Demo and explanation of FMA by GM Inosanto

I hope ya’ll are doing well. The sun is still shining and that makes a Texan in DK happy.

I thought it would be great to get back to the actual subject of this blog… FMA or Filipino Martial Arts. We have posted some videos that are about viking sword making and history, Japanese katanas and the culture around it, and other cool things like knives made from railroad spikes. The series of posts will continue. Today we are getting back to the FMA subject.

GM Inosanto did a demo and history presentation for the Smithsonian museum once. You will see him talk about the FMA history and show some techniques in the video. At the end he answers questions.

  1. Thank you for posting this. I watched the whole video and it was certainly worth my time. The 25-min demonstration was fantastic. I admire his wiesdom esp. the second question about warrior mentality.

  2. Thank you for posting this. I watched the whole video and it was certainly worth my time. Guro Dan’s 25-min demonstration was fantastic. I admire his wisdom esp the way he answered the question about warrior mentality. But my favorite quote is: “Always be a white belt because beginners are always hungry.” This video is an FMA gem. Thank you.

  3. To start with, thanks for the response. I agree with you completely, the man is great. I love the humble way he carries himself, while being so knowledgeable / skilled. We should all be as hungry for knowledge as he has been.
If you find some videos(/ have a post on your blog) that you might think are good for our blog send me a mail and I’ll consider it. Keep up the great work.
